Several people in our apartment complex hung out on the beach and cooked out. That night we went to the highest point on campus and watched the San Francisco fireworks. It was really cool becuase it was a dual show, they had to sets of fireworks going off. (I am 4 months pregnant!)
Matt flew down to Texas for a friend's wedding (Travis and Whitney) so Melissa came to keep me company. Of course we did the Golden Gate Bridge, Lombard Street, Ghirardelli Factory...OH and China Town.....it just happened to be Chinese New Years. I think there was a billion people there!!
We went into San Francisco and ate at Bubba Gump's on Pier 39. It is apart of Fisherman's Wharf which is a huge tourist spot, also a cool spot for the seal population. As you can se Matt posed as Forrest Gump.
There are a lot of hiking trails and many waterfalls in the area........Matt likes to go off trail and makes me follow him.
I still can't ever the fact that we live just minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge......all those years of watching Full House! We set out to walk across it but only made it have way! Aparently, there are a lot of suicide jumpers of this bridge....they had to post Help Signs with a phone.
Before we had a chance to get out Texas we were snowed in!! It was quite an adventure on our second night as newly weds......at first I was excited to see so much snow coming down like that then I was informed by my newly wed husband how silly I was......The snow just kept coming faster and traffic was moving 5 mph down I10. We were in the middle of west Texas no hotel in site. We called around but they were all booked. Finally we found a room open at a Motal 6 in the next town....however as we got closer we realized they had closed the freeway down and were making everyone exit.......at the very exit we needed to take to get to the hotel!! We got to the hotel just to found out we got the very last room available which happen to be smoking.......thankfully we had some wine from the wedding.
Thanks again to everyone that made our wedding happen. It was a blessing watching God provide everything we needed through our family and friends. It was exactly what we both wanted.....a short engagement and a short, beautiful wedding.....
Our Wedding was on Sunday 01/21/07 and our song was "A Sunday Kindof Love"
Though our wedding was perfect and a blast...we were ready to get out of there.....a quik stop through Shipley's drive through and we were off. We started the 30 hour drive to California the next morning only to get turned around for an hour in Houston!!
