C'est la Vie...Settling back into Texas but dreaming of Corsica. Welcome to our blog, a place to keep and share memories of our life and journey to love and live like Christ. All through set backs and leaps forward. He had us acquiring a taste for goat cheese and strong espresso shots and made us swim through the paperwork of an Ethiopian Adoption. Now we are adjusting back to plateaus, BBQs and Rodeos.
We showed the guys Texas State, the univetsity we both graduated from. And of course had to take them to Schlitterbaun, one of the first water parks...and the worlds best! Anytime girls would hear them talk....we would have to hear to whole 90 questions and 'please please talk in french'.....oh la la.
Theres a river that runs by the university that we used to go hang out at.
i just thought this salon was cute when we were walking around the San Marco square.
The original section of schlitterbahn uses river water in its rides.....so cold!
7.18.15 Saturday was a busy day and I'm sure there might have been some culture shock. They got to the Harley Davidson event in town...which included some mechanical Bull riding! Then a birthday party. And dirt races that evening.
We went to our cousins, Tracey's, house in galveston. We enjoyed practicing English while soaking in some sun, jumping from the balcony and kayaking.
We then connected them with the young adults group at Life Church....they were really surprised to see so many young people in church.
The guys arrived late last monday night! I have berm surprised in their smooth transition. And they have been nothing but respectful and appreciative dispite the small living quarters and all sharing one bathroom. 😉
Tuesday 7/14 introduction to American food...breakfast: pancakes! And for lunch man-n-cheese of course. Tacos and queso for dinner. A trip to b wapmart then we went to Sadies Horse back ridding lessons and enjoyed the pool.
Part 1 was when my corsican Bff, Claudia, came to visit a couple years ago.....now her younger brother, Jean-Philippe, and his friend, Louis, are coming. However, they are coming for 6 weeks to be submerged in English because they will be seniors this year! Claudia and her husband, Nouass, are taking them to the Paris airport today and they will be here monday night! Matt thought it would be a good idea to blog about their journey, English learning and Texas adventures for their parents to see.
